我想大家高考语文时应该也曾遇到过一只拦路虎：改错题中的语义重复
今天，我们就来说说英语翻译中的语义重复。 语义重复:是指在一句话中重复使用了意思相同的词语表达。而在我们的翻译过程中，因为英语讲求简练，则要求地更为严格。让我们用例句堂堂正正地解决问题！
1to accelerate the pace of economic reformaccelerate 加速the pace of ...的速度修改为：to increace the pace of economic reform 或者 to accelarate ecnomic reform
2there have beem good harvests in agricultureagriculture 只用在农业上，译为收成。修改为：there have beem good harvests 3living standards for the people in both urban and rural areas continued to rise.暂时还无法考虑其他物种的生活质量(微笑)修改为：living standards in both urban and rural areas continued to rise.
4the development of our economy in the future will, to a large extent, depending on...will depend 已经暗示了是将来时，不会是你凑字数被我发现了吧！修改为：the development of our economy will depend on a large extent to...还有一类语义重复对于擅长使用华丽辞藻的中国人来说是比较难以识别的，但面对喜好简洁明了的外国人来说，这却是一个好的翻译，特别是口译员的必备技能。1it is essential to strengthen the building of national defense.加强国家防御的建设听起来hin有中国特色有不有，可是外国人就会觉得有点啰嗦呢！修改为：it is essential to strengthen national defense.2at that time the situation in northeast China was still one where the enemy was stronger than the people's forces1.situation本身在句中不起作用，是多余的。2.由于situation的使用引起后来on where的使用，使句式变得复杂且容易出错。
修改为：at that time the enemy was still stronger than the people's forces in northeast China.3the key to the solution lies in the curtailment(缩减) of expenditure(支出，经费)key 这个单词要依据情况而用，这里显然是没有必要使用的，而且其后跟的lies in也只是秀技术的累赘~修改为：the solution is to curtail(or cut back on) expenditure.是不是找到了一种除狂练语速之外，提高口译速度的方法了呢？（☆_☆）小编向你扔来一波练习题：1.promoting the cause of peaceful reunification
